Chinese dragons roared in 18th century England. British potters celebrated Chinamania, using Asian dragons in whimsical ways. Such a dragon, wrapped around a 1760s British Staffordshire stoneware teapot in the Colonial Williamsburg collection, inspired these Staffordshire Dragon sculptures. The delicately carved pieces create an aura of global chic straight from the 18th century.
